About Me

I was born in South New Jersey, USA and spent most of my childhood in a town called Toms River.  I was interested in Photography and Special Effects at an early age.  In my teens I made a few stop motion animated films and nearly burned down my parents home when one of my miniature sets caught on fire. Now that’s dedication to the art of film making!

For college I went to an Art School where I majored in Film at the School of Visual Arts in NYC.  After a while I decided to switch my interests from Animation to Writing.  I learned about the film making process by working as an Assistant Director on many of my friends student films. My first paying jobs were working as a Production Assistant on TV shows such as THE EQUALIZER and a 2nd AD on Horror films such as the horror cult movie STREET TRASH.

Once I graduated I knew if I wanted to work in the movie industry I had to go West.  So, with little money in my pocket, I came out to Los Angeles.  The first things I worked on were Industrials. To pay the rent I got a job in a Video store.  One day I heard that the owner of the store was looking for someone to work with one of his executives at a small Video Distribution company called Vidmark.  I saw an opportunity and jumped at the chance to learn about Distribution from an independent perspective.  I spent several years there rising up the ranks from Assistant, Director of Acquisitions then finally a Production Executive.  My favorite movie I worked on there was the Western FRANK AND JESSIE.

After I left Trimark I became a Co-Producer for hire with a deal at LIVE Entertainment. I was a producer on three movies there and two of which ( THE ARRIVAL and WISHMASTER ) had moderate theatrical releases. All the films I have worked on are now part of the Lionsgate library. My credits can be found here on IMDB

As the 1990’s came to a close I began freelancing as a Risk Manager for the Studios and Insurance companies.  Over the years I was given the nickname “Doc” for my ability to fix problems between the Talent, Production and the Studio.

Several years ago, while shooting a movie on location in Los Angeles, I suffered a serious injury on the set.  Unfortunately, the injury caused painful permanent back and leg problems.  I am now in Forced Retirement due to my disability.  Now I have way too much free time on my hands and unfortunately physically limited in what I can do..

In between my Movie adventures I have been married, divorced and I became the proud dad to a son and daughter who are now beginning their own adventures.

To pass the time I am slowly learning how to play guitar and busy hanging out with my dog - Bogart. Also, in 2014 I have begun a Television and online streaming development company. The company will be called: Radiant Eye Media.  I figured if the original Darrin from the TV show “Bewitched” can develop and manage clients from his bed...so can I.
